The Deadliest Catch..part 2
« on: June 09, 2005, 08:39:37 AM »
Well, next week is the final episode. I really hate to see this series come to an end.
I haven`t made an effort to catch "in sequence" episodes of anything on the boob tube like this since "Lonesome Dove" was aired in 2 hour segments for the first time until this came along.
I have totaly enjoyed the series and found it some of the best programming for a long, long time.
After a 30 year run of this type of crabbing, this was the last year of the derby style fishing.
And end to yet another era and a way of life. I am proud I got to witness a part of it before it`s gone.
Hat`s off to these guys and hat`s off to Discovery for doing such a great job with this.

I have watched a few episodes but nothing in sequence. It appears to be a very well done show and hopefully they will not screw it up if they run it again.

The only reality TV I've seen that was worth a damn.

Kudos to the Men that make their living on the sea.. and the Kids that try and save 'em.

to the USCG!

I doubt you will see another season of this show.  I really liked it and thought it was really interesting but with the change in fishing style int he future with no more "derby style" I dont see how it could be as exciting in the future.  From what I understood from this week's episode, in the future each boat will have a quota and that is all they will be allowed to catch.  No more hauling bellybutton out on the first day and catching as many as you can in order to make the big bankroll.  The fishery dept is limiting how much each boat can catch rather than allowing them to get all they can in a short season.  That sucks.

Great show.

The only one in years I make an effort to watch.

Sling is right, Fish and game ****ed them over. There will be no more shows, cause they would be boring.

Just another case of the Feds stepping in and ****ing **** up.  40 years it was derby, and now they are forced to change because it will be safer and more fair.....

Truely great show.  I really like it.  Too bad fish and game is screwing them over.  I used to look foward to tuesday just to watch that show.:(
