Very interesting article. The note at the end about the camera confiscation is very reminscent of old soviet style journalist intimidation tactics. The hard-line Islamo-radicals see the writing on the wall just as the hard-line soviets did, and they don't like it at all.
It only reinforces my belief that western "WMDs" (Weapons of Mass Disney) will be the deciding factor. When a globally accepted Islamic fundamentalist cartoon gets higher ratings than Mickey Mouse re-runs, then we'll know that the Middle East status-quo has won. Until then, the march of progress continues with only minor pit stops.
