Written, arranged and played by moi :) of course not for the commercial specifically, but one of those - "nah, I dont like this right now" recordings ...a "put it on the back burner" type song...lol

Gentlemen,

A nice job on both films and to everyone else you participated in this contest. Hopefully we will get an influx of new talent over the next few months.

I will add that the tone Killjoy used was quite disrespectful seeing as these guys have put countless hours into these projects. But I have come to expect nothing less from some of this community. With that said though, he does have some very valid points, does he not?

Waffle, very nice teaser flick. Looked crystal clear. I was curious as to why the first 11 seconds of your movie was just a countdown, versus actual AH content?

Stream, really like the pursuit formation of 38s plus a good balance of what AH offers on the gound and in the sea and air.

Once again thank you to all those who participated. This game will only get better because of your efforts, and may the best pilot win.

11 seconds is a leader/counter.... for the 30 seconds spot.

 - that reminds me....

You guys need to go through and find out what are the "speilberg-izations" done in the clip. You'll probably have to stop and go frame by frame....lol :)

Thanks for the comments guys.

Just so you know, mine wasn't the finished version. This was just a raw version that I wanted to finish, but when it came down to deadline time, I just couldn't do it.  I had a hard time with the film viewer on most of the shots I wanted, whether it was frame rate hits, or textures not keeping up with the frame.  One shot I was using F6F-5's in eclilon right doing a fall off... but it just didn't come out good enough for me.  I got frustrated with the film viewer and the absence of hidden details, form of 3 players in B-17's and to get them all in the frame... you couldn't see the bombs falling from the other 2 players.

So what I am saying is, this is not completed.  It is just in a rough draft that I got out for HTC, one day I would like to finish it.  If they want to use it... they can, if not, so be it.   I was aiming more toward the multiplayer aspect, and the vehicles in the game when I started this.

... to answer your question Paul, mine is copywright free... I bought the rights to it.

BINGO!

My biggest and probably one of my only real gripes with the film viewer is how we are tied so tightly to the plane's. I would give anything for a god mode. Or the ability to manipulate the views with the mouse curser. RATHER than having to use the key pad or the sliders.

What I mean when I say being tied to the planes... We need a god mode.. Or a way of moving about within a certain range of the plane without having to move from a given axis. That axis being determined only by which plane you are viewing from. Just like we have in the DA, or while off line. Not only would it be easier to get the films and shots you wanted, but it would also make for a much better film in the end.
I know HT is busy with AH's ToD. So I wont press anymore on the subject. Just wishful banter on my part.

Edit: I have a commercial started. I fell short, like stream of the deadline tho. I just didnt have the time to finish it.

im thinking htc wanted them to be more historical in nature with the coming of tod, which just might say something about its release date.

i can safely say im one of those who lost interest in the ffa nature of ah, but im hoping tod will pull me back.

Killjoy seems to have a point.

But:
Ppl may want to "test" a historical matchup, but the short-time-fun is  beeing had by "mindless furballing" (tm). And thats what many ppl do, esp when beginning to play AH.

And if you would make the planesets country-specific, you would most probably run into problems on typical US timezones. There would be an overwhelming number of allies, with only a few axis to counter them. At least I think it would turn out this way.

Many ads are just lies. If you take some ads for say 4WD-Cars, what do you think would happen if you buy one of those and try in RL what you see in the ad. It'll be wrecked.

AFAIK an ad does not have to represent the actual experience in all ways. And few do.

So, if ppl want it sell it to them. But wrap it up in a way they want to see themselves in.

The game is what you make it. It could be historically accurate if people wanted to fly that way. And I don’t see how these commercials are misrepresentations at all! I almost always fly an allied plane, and guess what, more than half of the time I will find myself facing an AXIS plane. How is the Zeke v the f6 in any way a misrepresentation?! What should they show? People bickering on ch200??

When they advertise madden20XX on TV, they almost always use REPLAY footage, which IS in game footage but it never actually looks like that when you are playing because of the zoomed out, overhead angle. Why the hell would they show what the game looks like 90% of the time you play it when they could show the awesome looking part that doesn’t really come up that often, but its there. Is that misrepresentation?? And what about EVERY Squaresoft game that shows nothing but pre-rendered cut scenes in their commercials.  It’s a common practice in video game (and every other kind of) advertising. You show the best side of your product while hiding the less attractive sides of it.

Drink Budweiser! It will get you drunk and make you hit your girlfriend!! Oh, and it tastes great too!

I will post mine when i get back home from work. I liked your one waffle i had problems running streams film (all i got was audio)

I understand this commercial is being run on the US history chl but i have yet to see a non US allied plane in any of these commercial attempts. You would think the war in the pacific was the only air battle of ww2. I keep seeing P51's vs lw, f6's vs zekes, lw Vs B17 etc.  Was it in the competion rules that you have to cater for  a historically ignorant public. I my-self have  a greater view on the type of audience that maybe viewing this commercial. Thought it may be nice to add some UK planes also aswell as JP, lw and US think i missed the Russians and italians and im very sorry for that:(

Good luck to Paulv from what i have seen he should win this thing.<>

You stand a MUCH greater chance of being in a historically accurate fight if you fly Axis planes over allied ones.

The greater majority of my fights are against one of 4 types.
dw..Spit, La's,P-51's, P38s.
