Although I agree that the Spitfire is probably the most beautiful WWII fighter, and the P-51 and P-38 are very beautiful as well, I'd still like to nominate two others:

... but as I said, it is very hard to beat a clipped wing Spit V!

no thats not me. just some photo i found on the internet. then the gears started turning: small biplane+red nose+ black guy+ silly= tuskeegee airmen: the early years. thats how my brain works. here is an example of somethin that made me fall out of my seat laughing.

george forman+spongebob episode involving boxes+futurama+timing+mr.T= fall out of my chair laughing for no explainable reason.
