Could there be something wrong with the build command in new OE?
I have been trying to rebuild previously built shapes which worked ok in TE and in game. This is what I have done:
- converted again from .ac file (makes .shp and .htx files to userlib)
- opened the old .til file in OE (uses the new files from userlib)
- BUILD (makes .shp file in userlib!!! instead of in newshp like earlier)
The problem is that the new .shp is a very small file between 2 and 10k, whereas the same .shp used to be tens or hundreds of k:s.
If I check the "is a terrain cell" in properties before build command, white lines appear in the OE bottom square and when building, a scrolling timeline appears and some internal/external messages are shown after the build. Also the built file becomes much larger. Other check boxes do not seem to affect the build size.
HT, please check this and if the procedure of using OE has changed, please give us some instructions.
Also since you know what the difference between old and new shp:s are, would it be very difficult to make somekind of batch or exe file to convert the old objects into new and compatible objects?
I have tens of objects to rebuild and I dont know what I am doing. The only feedback comes from TE as it crashes unless all old objects are rebuilt correctly. There is NO reasonable way to figure out which file is rebuilt wrong.. the combinations are endless.
Or could the TE be made to open the old maps and just to disregard old objects and in some way report and list the incompatible objects... instead of just crashing while trying to open old maps?
