DA Etiquette
« on: June 17, 2005, 06:28:43 PM »
I went to the DA a few weeks ago for the first time to see what it was all about.

Fortunately there were only a couple of other guys in there so it was kind of easy to jump in.

What is the usual etiquette in the DA?

Probably because I am a total noob at DA and just have average at best acm in general , I got my butt kicked each time. Our basic drill was a not quite head to head merge , then everybody went up, into this serious of loops trying to get a snap shot, then somebody would stumble and stall (me) try to get away a bit and take it up the 6.

Whats a better approach for us DA noobies? I'm just not used to those co-alt, co-e merges, never happens in the MA, plus you do that loopy stuff somebody will come along and kill ya quick.

Anyway whats best way to approach the DA, how about some tips to get to the green belt level of the DA?

forget the 'loop' brake the loop in half...

Immelman beats a flat turn
flat turn beats a split-s
(lower speeds)split-s gets first shot at HO aginst immelman.

More details here.

That concludes lesson 1, come back in a few months lol.  Just remember each merge brings a brand new decision.    Part of that decision, is are you going for that snap shot?  Or are you simultaniously avoiding the snap shot and setting up for the next turn?  If you go for the snap and miss while the other guy is pre-turning, you just lost major ground.

Well, what are you looking for?  If you are looking for BnZ ask some one to do that with you.  If you just jump in, you will most liekly end up fighting a SpitV.
