Dux saidWow, those are sweet! (guys, check 'em out!) I can't speak about their accuracy off the top of my head, but they look beautiful.
Thanks.

Don't you just love the late-war "Frankenplanes" the Germans made out of assembled pieces of wrecks?
They're pretty accurate, as far as I can tell. For the structural stuff, I worked from my "Walkaround" books, and this includes adding things to the stock skins like the pilot's whole body and cockpit side consoles to the "inkwell", as well as opening up the Dora's wheel wells to show the oil tank and back of the motor in the inner half. For the paintjobs, I mostly worked from contemporary photos (Black 12's were in color) and photos of plastic models folks have built of them. And of course, all the huge discussion about what color RLM-whatever was, and what shade of gray in a B&W corresponds to which RLM color

. The only exception is Red 3, where I just worked off a scheme provided with some aftermarket decals. But having an A8 in III./KG51 colors was interesting enough to take the risk. The only non-historical thing I'm certain of is that I put my own face on DUDE1.bmp, but if HTC's artists can put personal stuff in the cockpits, I figure I can too

.
I'm sure the delay is just workload-related, but we rarely hear from Skuzzy either, so you're guess is as good as mine.
Yeah, that's what I gathered when I talked to him on the phone a while back. He said he could only do skins by coming in on weekends.
