Sounds like you guys did well rip. Especially with such a young team. We start 9 yr old all star practice tomorrow.

I took my blair auto body team to an atltanta braves game saturday. I bought all the kids and coaches tickets, rented a van and the whole deal. Turner fields about 125 miles from here. It was a big deal to the boys. I think they had a great time. I'll try to post some pics later today.

Nope we are done. Plus All Stars down here in my area is basically a popularity/political show between the head coaches. They never select kids who play in the outfield and then try to plug in kids who have played second or short all season into the outfield and they have no clue how to play it. My son was selected for the fourth all star team but the "baseball board" voted it down because it wasn't put together on the night they did the other three teams. Again more political BS.

Next year if he gets selected for all stars he will probably just tell them to shove it because he knows he is better than most of the kids on the all star teams and it will all play out when he gets to middle school and high school. At any rate my son is enjoying his summer and thats all that matters.

Nice topic!

I took the plunge and was an assistant coach for my sons first year in LL.  Was a blast and the kids had fun even though we ended up one rung up from bottom.

 Good luck next year guys

After working hard for 4 weeks with the nine year olds, we had to forfeit our game yesterday because we lacked 1 player. Kids at disneyworld, summer camp, momma mad (we don't let boy play enough to suit her), etc. If we'd had our whole team there, I believe we would have won.
Tough way to get knocked out. I took the team to pizza hut afterwards. After ten minutes of that they had forgotten about baseball. :)

We were knocked out first round back in May, a 2-1 heart breaker.  We missed the team pizza party because it was a week later and we were in Minnesota.

Good luck next year everyone! Football season starts in this house August 1st, with practice every day, 5 days a week, 2 hours a day! (*I'm driving the Truck Camper so I can eat while the kid practices..:D)
