I lost my reference numbers for the bare metal ki84 too, but HTC did update it to the new version.

It can be tricky to update the skin without the reference number. You need to provide the exact name from the clipboard in the hangar of the skin you are updating. If there are multiples of the same name (possible given the way we name them), then provide a screen shot with some annotation of which skin (show the clipboard entry and the skin in the hangar) is being updated.
