Updating old 190 Skins
« on: June 28, 2005, 08:23:39 PM »
I've started updating the old 190A-8 skins.

The first one should be ready in a few days.

If anyone has a request for a particular 190A-8 scheme, this should be a good time to ask.

Hey Kweassa-
If you're feeling ambitious and want to paint one that I'm fairly sure no one has tried yet, how about this?

A Hungarian F-8 would surely be an eye-catcher.  Details of the image can be found at

Thx for the profiles gunbee, it's very helpful.

Personally, I have an agenda for skinning 190s called "The Historic 190s Project". According to this agenda, these six Fw190A-8s are considered to be most 'represantative' of 190A-8s:

Quote

*Order of Battle May,1944
IV./JG3 (sturmgruppe) (Germany)
I./JG11 (Germany)
III./JG2 (France)
II./JG54 (Russia)

*Order of Battle  January,1945
II./JG4 (sturmgruppe) (Germany)
II./JG300 (sturmgruppe) (Germany)

Fancy that, the last Fw190A-8 profile just happens to be the plane of Willi Maximowitz of IV./JG3. This skin was in with the old Fw190 models, and I've just updated it right now :) Here's a sample pic with the essentials finished, no weathering/highlighting done yet:

The other Fw190A-8 skin I am planning to update is Kurt Buehligen's, III./JG2.

So, among those profiles, the JG300 and/or the JG4 Fw190A-8s would probably be my next candidates to skin, after Buehligen's scheme is done. :)

 Thanks for the profiles!
