Didnt see it posted here yet,,,,AKAK had an idea of having a troop transport ship or two that was part of Carrier task force, and if you sink it,,,,no LVTs

thought it was a great idea

It would also benefit furballers,,,,since the strat guys may be less inclined to sink some CV's if there is no threat of losing the base to LVTs

No, you're making assumptions.

Even without a troop transport, the fighters can still bang the heck out of someplace.

But with the troop transport, it gives the suicide porkers TWO targets to hit.  There is a certain limit at which the LVT's can spawn in, so the troop transport will NOT be the first hit, nor the first that people try to sink.

Don't forget that without the Carrier, the fleet is still gone in 15 minutes.

Not necessarily.

Been many times I've upped my bombers to sink a CV and held off when I saw no one was manning the 8" guns on the CA.  Usually lined up and took out the CA instead to make sure it stayed that way so I could up a fighter and join in the fun.  It's the intermediate bomber guys who get carried away sinking the CVs but they'd quickly learn to take a Troop carrier first.  What with all the yelling they'd catch for ending a good fight.
Easy in-game again.

If you could take down the troops in a carrier group (like you can in a field), it would reduce the threat of capture with the CV still up. This could make the FBers VERY happy. :)

It's not like the LVT's have RATO's on them.  Once they hit the water, they are slow extremely vulnerable targets.  Almost any plane can take them out.

It will NOT be a rush to kill the troop transport.  Because all the suicide porkers will have done nothing but just limit the LVT's when they get close enough.  All those bombers and divebombers will have done nothing but say that LVT's can't spawn.

In the real world however, all the smart suicide porkers would take out the Carrier.

This does two things:

1.) The carrier respawns back at the port in 15 minutes.
2.) The fleet isn't able to up defenders.

So suddenly they have little defense, their planes can't respawn and everyone starts upping LVT's with no air cover.

lasersailor184 you're missing the real threat to the fight.  It's not the suicide porkers it's the single guy in a B-26.

The "furballers" are not going to carry bombs or extra ammo for LVTs and they don't want to be bothered with a ground war when the fun they came for is in the air.  It doesn't matter how slow an LVT is, sooner or later they always get through.   If the land based guys don't sink the CV first.

Am I the only one who has ever shot at an LVT?  It's rediculously easy to take them down.

Come in from the starboard aft and he can't even shoot back.

The only way LVT's EVER EVER EVER EVER get through is if the fighters beat the defenders back.

So we are back to where we started.  It won't be important whether or not you have a troop transport.  What will matter is the Carrier.
