« on: July 05, 2005, 02:39:09 PM »
Im reaching 60K

I want to do some small mods

So..New Intake.....10-15 HP increase

New MAF (mass air flow sensor)  10-15 HP increase

i was lookn thru summit racing..

any input?

which intakes are the best....let more air in..but not dirt..Im thinking pitting my cylinder walls is bad

I dont see many options for MAF sensors..

If you do get an aftermarket intake, be sure to get the cold air intake. The filter will be located outside the engine compartment and pull in colder air than what it's currently getting from inside the engine compartment.

I did it for an older Civic I use to own, got better gas mileage and a small boost in power.

One time I added up all the "HP gains" that I was gonna get from the parts I put on a big block.... came out to like 1000 hp gain over the stock 350..

for Hp plus MPG you could look at a free flowing exhaust.  colder and less restricted intake air..

I've had several cars where I've added a cold air intake. Some have performed better and some worse.  Volant makes decent units.. but there prices are a bit stiff.  Just becareful of what you buy. And stay away from those EBay deal's. Those sucker too many people.

...and don't forget to upgrade the brakes from drum brakes to ventilated discs. Lazs will help you with that. ;):lol
