Found New Hardware ????
« on: July 05, 2005, 09:04:20 PM »
MY SYSTEM: MoBo-P4C800Deluxe
                        3.00 GHz
                       1022 MB Ram
                        Dx9.0c
                        Window XP pro
                        Logitech USB Headset
                        NO SOUND CARD
                        Not using MoBo Sound
All systems working, sound etc. BUT each time I start the computer I get--FOUND NEW HARDWARE WIZARD. The Device Manager shows OTHER DEVICES=YELLOW QUESTION MARK,
plus Multimedia Audio Controller, Raid Controller and 6 Unknown Devices with yellow question marks.
I tried installing drivers per the Wizard request BUT it says NO
DRIVERS FOUND?
RE-install Augity2 drivers? took out the card, the Logitech headset & sound work fine.

Appreciate help on this matter.
Thanks.
works fine

You have an onboard sound device, which you need to disable in the motherboard BIOS ROM.  Once you do that, the messages will stop and you will no longer have a question mark in the system devices.

The other thing it might be is you do not have the native sound card drivers loaded.  Windows contains some basic drivers for sound.  But if Aces High workds, it is not this as the basic sound card driver will not work in DirectX.

Attempted to find the on-board audio in the bios, could not find or recognize it. I wonder if I use the MoBo CD and recover it?
I may have removed that file with MECH 5 Pro?

Any thoughts gentlemen:confused:

Who is the BIOS maker? Also who is the manufacturer of the mobo? Plus when you go down the list of devices on the motherboard menus (must press one of the Function keys to get there at boot up) you should see a listings of devices that are connected to your system. Your onboard sound is listed in that as onboard sound. Or at least that is what my system shows it as.

In the bios I could not recognize the on board sound file, tried all sections, no success. It must be a mind boggler, it will cost me a couple of hundred bucks to get this fixed by the Geek Guys or some Guru computer genious:o
Thanks for your concern.

your on board sound is in the advanced tab. under on board devices>AC 97 audio. highlight it hit enter and disable it. save changes and exit.

Thank you, it worked, disabled 97 and then changed RAID to IDE, everything seems to be working, but at start up, it shows BIOS not installed, this happens before the windows goes into final set-up.
The reason I changed RAID to IDE, the computer was still giving me the WIZARD hardware to find driver, but now it does not come up.

Am I looking for trouble because it's telling me no BIOS installed?

Everything seems to be working fine so far.

Skuzzy-thank you for your direction, I just couldn't see the proper designation on the bios.

Thank you both.

look more carefully.
It probably says SCSI BIOS not installed or RAID BIOS not installed.

What i mean is its probably not talking about the motherboard bios but an add on bios that you may or may not need.
