Anyone going to Oshkosh?
« on: July 11, 2005, 11:41:03 AM »
I'm planning on being there the last weekend, they had to drop the b-29 but I'm still looking forward to going. Never been before, if anyone has what do I have to see? Anything I must see?

Thanks

Nick

I hope to be going. but depends on family. It is essentially divided into Warbirds, classics and homebuilts. Essentially. And also seaplanes at "the lake". So decide what you want to see and spend time there. Although you can wander around the plce easily enough. There are also lots of workshops that you can sign up for. If you want. I spend most of my time drooling over the warbirds. But I still love a nice Taylorcraft or a gull wing Stinson.

Be prepared to be around lots of people. Bring a hat and some sunscreen. And (not trying ot sound like mom) drink lots of water.
And if you don't have a hotel reservation plan on not spending the night, or plan on camping.
Peace

I'm going probably on Tuesday or Wednesday to avoid the crowds.  I'm especially excited this year due to the fact that White Knight/SpaceShipOne is going to be there.

There will be several there from the 327th Steel Talons. Unfortunately, I will not be one of them, my business won't let me leave.

KOOL and Eagle will be there, and BOOT will actually be part of several demonstrations by the World War II re-enactors.

BOOT himself will be hosting a recreation of a World War II bomber mission briefing, I think it will be the briefing for Schwienfurt. This will be done on "movie night", and will be somewhere around where the B-17's and B-24 will be.
