looking for a squadron
« on: December 17, 2009, 11:06:11 PM »
yep, in AH looking for a Jug squad.

I can bring a lot of experiance. flying the crappy sims available to the Apple II+ in the '80s and some PC based sims in the early '90s.

found warbirds (v1.19ish) in 96 or so.

I flew as 'crutch' there until I became a trainer and flew as 'crtch=' until I dropped out of sims in '05.

been away from the sims for about 4 years now, but watched too many aircraft shows on wings/military/history channels and started getting the itch again.

I AM rusty but am working to get most of it scrapped off.

I prefer flying Jugs, with a good wingman you are almost invincable ;)

thats what Im looking for a Jug flying squad using wingman tactics.

Keep an eye out for the 56th Fighter Group, an older squad been around for years now.  They've been a little quiet for awhile but I think since the addition of the P-47M they may be looking to get things going again.

Also look for Stoney74 and the 348th. Not sure how many are still active, but jugs and teamwork with good wingmen, you've described them perfectly.

nice write-up on the Jug on those pages <S>

I DO have weight/ballance sheets for a couple of Jug types and will dig them out to refreash my memory on a few items.

which book do you have Check Six or Air Combat Manoevers(Im just a conributer not the main author on it)?  both are/were available on amazon last I checked.

I have been flying the 'M', a really nice ride she is ;)

PM me and lets see if we can setup a 'meet' in one of the arenas.
