Thank you HTC.

First and foremost to those that have doubts of what the OC is about.

It's about a Community that cares, heckles and jibes each other over lil matters and those far larger than just a game.  Regardless of what Country, Religion or Political standing each may have.

Before you rant about that "It's only a BBS" maybe you should look a lil inwards.  Since I've been here a lil over 5 years or more, it's more like friends you never want to lose.  You know who you are and I am greatful for you being you.

We pull together when things go wrong in life, injuries, deaths and all things that bring us to our knees. We rejoice over the better things also, New births, medical recoverys and life.  There are many in here I have never met in person, but have talked before again and again over the phone, emails, Family pictures and events....

So before you bring yourself to knock down walls you don't know about try to get the feel of the room.  There are good people around you.

Thank you HTC.

Awwww Mac, you just had to go and do it , huh?
I mean, first cup of Joe, not even hittin on all cylinders yet and I open this up to find something real deep and thoughtfull. I reread and reread trying to find the punch line. I scroll back up, rub my eyes and look at the poster name again. Yep , it`s Mac.
The whole universe just got off kilter. :)

You know Mac, I think you have hit upon a very good point here.
I remember the last night of AW. I was thinking what a shame and a loss it was going to be to lose touch with all the people that made up the community.
EA said the AW boards would be left up for a couple of months, so I thought we would have time to make arrangments and figure out where everyone was going from there. Like all things EA, that was a friggin lie and they shut the boards down very shortly.
Thankfully a lot of us ended up here and were able to continue on with at least a part of our community. Some were lost in the shuffle and they are missed.
To me the boards  are just as important, if not more important, than the game itself.

Whenever something heavy goes down in the political arena, besides keeping my ears tuned to the t.v. news and my eye on the newspaper, I always browse the OC. The views expressed in here cover such a range of opinions, and many of them are well thought out and reasoned. I disagree with many, and agree with many. I use this board for a barometer of public opinion. And I actually learn quite a bit.

I also appreciate the honesty (sometimes brutal) you all post with. I know it seems that the tone in here is antagonistic at times, but just let one of us run upon some trouble, or have a dire need; the very best in us comes out. Many's the time I've seen a generous outpouring of well-wishes and even monetary and other material assistance offered. Some churches could take a page from the example shown on this board.
