"The days that haven’t good light they also flew for training or to go to aerial exhibitions. Sometimes they practiced free combat. It was an uneven combat, as the firsts Spitfires barely faced the Buchones, with engines of 1800 HPs lowered to 1610. The Spit was much more agile, though it had less speed, acceleration and climb speed, but the Buchón pilots didn’t enter in a turns fight against them. “If you followed them, they turned over and your slats started to appear, your own mask fell, and they escaped”. He specified that the combats started with both of them flying side to side, and with a signal, they broke and had to take the other’s tail."
