I don't know about you, but 109's seem to be a lot smaller than I thought they were.

Me-109's are really small.  Most WW2 era aircraft aren't as large as they look in still photos.   The P-51D's interior is barely tolerable even without the armored headrest or 1940's seat.  Flying a 6 hour long mission in one wouldn't be much fun.

I love the fact that he has a restored Emil (a flightworthy one, with a DB engine no less!), but he could have completed the markings. There's no markings in front of the fuselage cross. If I recall there should be a yellow 1 for that plane, and the colors might be a tad off. It needs a yellow nose and rudder, as well.

That is, of course, going by the squad badge on the tail.

Guessing he's using markings from prior to the yellow going on as an ID marking in the B of B.

Did this profile a while back based on a photo of one in similar markings.  No yellow nose or tail.

Is this the Paul Allen microsoft guy? he lives here on Lopez island, half of us islanders work for him, heck i ought to go try to talk planes if this is the case!

The amount of research that goes into the aircraft that FHC is doing is astronomical.  That said, if they are displaying it in colors that differ from what you think, chances are, they are right on to the way the plane was.  

Also, they generally supply the aircraft in it's factory delivery markings, and then when it gets to Arlington, the final colors will be applied.  Epupa Upopa was delivered in it's factory markings then painted final at Arlington.

Yeah, I've seen some pics of part of his collection.  More power to him.  Far as I'm concerned, he's putting his money to good use.  :)

You're right about something being missing Krusty. That is a Gruppen emblem on the tail that originated with 2./Jg71 and transfered to II/JG51 in '39.
That squiggly looking line down by the birds feet is an inscription that was added when it transfered to Jg51, so the a/c would probably also have some insignia belonging to that Gruppen, plus something (number, geschwader or gruppe symbol) in front of the Balkencruez.
Also, that's an E-4/7 which wasn't operational til after the transfer as well so it'll likely have Jg 51 markings unless they remove the emblem on the tail and start from scratch.
