Motherboard Question

Would I be better off getting the Asus A8n-SLI Deluxe, or the MSI K8n Neo4 Platinum/Sli?  

I want a motherboard that supports the widest range of AMD processors... I'm going to get a relatively inexpensive one now, but I want to be able to drop a faster one in later.

I had decided on the Asus, but now I'm second-guessing myself... I really don't know enough to make an informed decision.

I have had many ASUS boards and all are easy setup and zero problems

my latest is the a8v 939 pin board

no experience with the msi line

I ask because I was looking in the other thread and it looks as if people are having a lot of troubles with the ASUS boards.  The X2 thread, that is.

Another thing I noticed... this site (http://reviews.cnet.com/) lists the RAM for both motherboards as being DDR266, but all the pricewatch listings say DDR400.  

Which is it?

I have just upgraded my pc with the msi board. All i can tell you is t was very easy and no glitches encountered.                Also according to cpu-z my ram is running at the pc 3200 specs. So I'd say it is ddr 400.
    This was also my first motherboard install, if I can do it with no hicups anyone probably can.

that asus supports up to DDR400 (PC3200)

dunno about the X2, I have a 3400 64

Personally,

I recently got the Abit AN8 motherboard with an AMD 939 pin 3700+ San Diego processor.  I have always had good experiences with Abit.  The AN8 is no exception.  

Also, if you ever think about overclocking an AMD processor,  the AN8 has some nice features from inside Windows including flashing a new bios.  The AN8 also supports future processors and 4400 speed ram.  I bought mine from newegg.

DFI seems to be the best going right now. i use a Asus A8N Deluuxe with no probs. havent went to x2s yet.  all AMD 939
socket boards can run any current AMD64 CPUs, u may have to
flash the bios.

u want QUALITY  RAM, minimum DDR400 (PC3200). id spend alittle extra $$ and get mushkin/crucial balistix/or OCZ  ram, CAS 2 2 2
if at all possible. id also get 2 1gig sticks for total system ram of 2 gig. dual core CPUs gone need extra room to run programs
smooth @ same time.
