So are any of you guys playing in the last phase of the beta for Anarchy Online? Or planning on playing when it opens on the 27th?

For those of you not familiar with the game, its your basic MMPOG game similar in implementation to Everquest, but with a Sci-Fi theme instead of fantasy.

Yes, yes.... I admitt it. I'm a closet roleplaying gaming type.

In fact thats how I got started with online gaming, way back when about 7 years ago when I found a game written by Kesmai (of AW fame) called Legends of Kesmai (LOK). Of course I went from there to playing UO, then Everquest, and I tried Asherons Call but I thought it basically sucked.

Damn these games!!

I love my flight sims, but I become down right obsessed with games like AO, and I spend way too many hours playing them, neglecting the rest of my life.

Plus my flying hours go down to almost nil.

I got in the beta during the last phase, but I passed when I found that I had to download the 650MB file.

I had applyed about 1 year ago and recently received invitation to join AO. Went to check the download and was stunned with 650Mb... Wow, but I downloaded it and gave it a try... For me that game suck big time.. Maybe its me or lack of info on this game. Also tryed to call for help on the ch and NO one had ever replied. Normal I guess. Vermillion how do you like the game? MAybe you can give me a few points and we can do omething together... However I will still be in AH and no AO can change that

Yes the 650meg download for a beta was daunting to say the least.

Its funny that I signed up over a year ago myself and had pretty much lost interest in the game, but a friend of mine from EQ was hyped on it. He regularly kept on the progress of the game, and then when beta4 was on the horizon, he bugged me to download that huge 650meg file "before everyone was trying to get it". So I fired up the trusty DSL and got it down in just a few hours.

What do I think of the game?

Well, it surely has its share of bugs, but I would have to say that its in the best shape of all the big MMPOG's at release. EQ, UO, and AC were all in worse shape and were much worse off in regards to server stability and bugs.

Dmitry, just look me up in game (character name is Vermillion) or by email and I will do whatever I can too help. And I would love any data you have on the IL-28. In particular I am looking for flight test and engineering data.
