A few Jugs
« on: July 21, 2005, 03:30:31 PM »
These are the Jug skins I've been working on. I've been careful not to redo any aircraft that had already been skinned in 2.03.
Also, I've not done skins that has been claimed by anyone in here. Now 2.04 is out I'm going to play with them for a week
or two before posting them to The Skin Department.

Well that's pretty much it for me with P-47s. I might do one or two more some time in the future, but I've had enough of them for now.

I've uploaded "Snortin Bull" and "Too big and too heavy" to The Skin Department.

At the 1024 texture resolution we use for screenshots, panel lines looks more realistic when faded right down. IMO though, they then tend to look "mushy" at the 512 res that most people use in the arena. So I've made these stand out a bit more than normal so they look better at 512.

The material file I've used for these two skins is about half as glossy as the standard HTC metal effect. I find too much glossiness washes out a lot of the skin's detail.

I'd appreciate any opinions WRT these skins, or on the above comments.

fantastic!

might want to give variation to the scratches anti glare panel fading and star insignia markings to avoid to much cookie cutter feeling.

I know that was a gripe on my p-40E skins by some of the grumpy old skinners :)

Thanks guys. Yes I've rightly been accused of "cookieism" as well. :) I'm currently varying the chips and stains before I submit them.

Absolutely gorgeous, all of 'em.   Esp. love the heavy shadowing around the cowl flaps.

Here's hoping 2 Big and 2 Heavy makes it in just as she really was!
