P-47N "Lil Meaties Meat Chopper"
« on: July 26, 2005, 01:12:25 PM »
P-47N-1-RE(s/n 44-88211) flown by 2nd Lt. Oscar F. Perdomo of the 464th FS, 507th FG, Ie shima , July 1945. THe only ace of the 507th FG 2nd Lt. Oscar F. Perdomo, claimed 4 Ki-84s and a biplane trainer on the same mission 13 August 1945.

Special thanks to Guppy for the profile he provided and to NHawk for rivet help.

Things left to do:
1. Change the materials.txt
2. Fix the bomb racks on the bottom of the wings
3. Fix the anti-glare panel
4. Fix some shading, IE the cowling.
5. Add the text, warnings, and No Step markings on it.
6. Increase rivet opacity.  You cant see them at all, anywhere.

Comments, questions, and suggestions are welcome as always!

It's looking very good United. I'm curious as to why you are doing the panel lines and shading last. Do you have any particular reason for doing it that way round?

Thanks Kev, that's a handy site. Doesn't seem to be a P-47N there though.

The panel lines are there, but I lowered the opacity so much that they are hardly visible.  Gotta change that.  I don't really have a reason for doing the shading last, I just forgot about it. :)

Updated:

1. Added warning box and different text around the plane.

2. Fixed rivet and panel line opacities (rivets might be a tad too strong)

3. Added cowling shading

4. Fixed material.txt

5. Couple other odds and ins

Was afraid of that.  I'll do some experimenting today on it.  Then again, I think I may leave it that way.  We'll see how hard it is to get the darker color. :)

Alright.  Added some more blue tint to it.  That helped with the brightness factor (moreso than is visible in the pictures here).

1. Fixed the oil streaks under the wings so it runs up on the wingroot as well instead of abruptly stopping at that point.

2. Fixed rivet and panel line opacities.

3. Added and edited a few more things.
