Tojo, your enthusiasm for opening your system up to exploitation is certainly energetic, if a bit strange.
I'm guessing you don't realize what the security implications are of adding a signing authority. Every time you add a certificate, you're telling your computer to implicitly trust anything that is signed by that authority. With the default certificates we have in our browsers, the physical security of the files needed for it are established and documented. Here, you're giving away security to some hole-in-the-wall organization that might sell signing rights to anyone, including malware authors, or if they go under, whoever buys their drives at garage sales or ebay will have complete control over your system if you visit a site of theirs in the future that has an aggressive installer.
Next, you're installing the player software on your computer. Why? Why would you do this? You're basically holding your breath crossing your fingers, and jumping in assuming that if there was a problem or security hole, SOMEONE would have found it, even though the only people clicking 'Yes' have already demonstrated that they lack the basic security survival skills to function on the internet these days. With respect, installing a one-off player for a beer ad is craziness, as there's no established need anywhere for it. You have other sites that use this player in mind? If not, then WHY?
Finally, there's no reason to use their software.
http://www.plazafilms.com.au/clips/pm_cub_bigad.movTojo, your post might be understandable 7 years ago, after all, what harm can people actually DO? 4 years ago, a bunch of us might look at you a little funny, but accept that sure, you might be right, after all, there have only been a couple of big vulnerabilities, right? Making the statements you have and calling me 'paranoid' TODAY after all of the crap that's gone down, and the millions of computers that have, through their disablement, proven beyond a doubt that not only do security holes exist, but there are people WILLING TO USE THEM.... I have to ask for your internet license to be suspended until as time you complete a basic refresher course on the basic rules to web browsing safety. The gentlemen in back will give you a ride back to your house in a safe browser session, where they will unplug your DSL until you have passed the small test that follows the course.
Or better yet, just click and run this AWESOME PROGRAM I found where these rockin' camouflaged elves are BOWLING in the jungle!
