How about to help against the problem of dive bombing buffs, the puffy ack from CVs becomes more than something just for show.

Just give the buffs' bombs a longer fusing time, so their bombs don't go off if dropped below say 5k.

naaa cuz to many would complain about that. How about when flak blows up next to u it makes your plane bounce. In CFS1 i downloaded a mission and in the intelaken area on a lake there where PT boats and flack 88 and flack panzers everywhere and when they shoot up at me my plane would bouce very badley if they got close. When i would dive in to bomb the act would bounce my plane off course and id miss alot. But when i got in bombers it didn't bounce that badley.

Maybe if we make it where flak is closer to you it makes your plane just bounce everywhere up in the air. Cuz in CFS1 it was hard just to fly threw it cuz your plane would just tilt and then go up and down side to side. Maybe make the AA just a bit more accurate not much tho.

You gotta be kidding ... I have been +6K away from a CV group, on the other side of a mountain and still have the flack targeting me and sometimes hit me.

Thanks ... but no thanks. If you get decent gunners in the 5 inchers, they can slay buffs without a problem.

I have never actually taken damage from puffy ack.  Sure the occational ping, but nothing falling off the plane.  All I'm asking for is if you're flying along in a nice straight line, as most CV attacking bombers do, then the AA becomes more accurate.  I'm not talking laser range finding one shot one kill shells here.  It's just that right now, AA does nearly nothing.

add more 5" guns to escorts and 40mm, since r/l destroyers didnt run around wth pathetic 20mm guns only. and how about adding deck trainable torps to destroyers

What I liked a lot in the Coral Sea scenario, where we did lots and lots of attacking of CV groups, is *less* deadly ship AA fire but *much* more sturdy ships.  This means you need to hit them with a lot more bombs before they go down, but you have better odds of getting through the ack (so torpedo planes can work).

In the main arena, ship attacking is too uneven.  If a ship is not manned, you can divebomb it or level bomb it with one aircraft and sink any one ship you pick, but you can't get close in a torpedo plane.  If a ship is manned, having it turning makes it much more difficult to hit (as it should) and having someone good in the 5" guns makes it very hard for pilots to get close enough regardless of what plane type you are flying to drop bombs.

I would like it much better with the Coral Sea type of settings.  Hitting a manned ship would be a lot harder, but not impossible; and manned or unmanned it would take a lot of hits to put down a ship.

The effect is that, now, it might take N attacks to sink a ship, but N-1 of them are just people getting shot down before they even get to drop bombs.  With Coral Sea settings, it still takes N attacks to sink a ship, but a larger number of people get through to at least once to drop bombs before they die.

CV's in the game right now are very easy to reach and kill. Both sides have can take out the opposing sides CV with little to no effort.

There are some factors that go into play here.
1. The ships are easy to find
2. The guns of the carrier group are not even close to what was used IRL
3. The ships cant take much damage
4. There is not enough support ships to cover/protect the "Carrier"
5. In WWII ALL guns were manned by a human not a computer

I personally would like to see the ships armed with proper gun loadout {OR at least as close as possible} All positions should be able to be manned. If the AI controls some of the guns when someone's not in them, this would be fine. Have only half the guns be AI controlled when not manned.

The B17's in the game don't have only two turrets ?  The Typh doesn't have 4 .303's or 2 .50cals does it ?
Then the ships shouldn't be stuck with two 20mm guns?

Just my opinion
