NEWS FLASH! Hot off the press!

Operation Flashpoint will get dedicated server support in August, rather than September, as previously reported.  This will come by way of a free upgrade patch.

Also, they plan to release upgrade patches each month for July, August, September.  Do not confuse these with the bug fixe patches.

It seems I may be getting OFP sooner than I thought.

Sweet.
I really loved the demo for this one, most fun shooter I ever played.  Aircraft were cheesy but otherwise woohoo!

I downloaded the demo and thought it was terrific, so I've ordered the full version online since US release isn't available until September.

I have ordered several times from this UK firm for shipment to North America and they've proven for me to be excellent.  I placed my order online Monday morning and they confirmed via email they shipped it via Swift Air Monday afternoon.

The demo is also available for download from their site, but I'd recommend finding a faster North American based server.  Here's a set of mirrors for the 60 megabyte demo version, so I would suggest you check a few to find the highest throughput rate.

Hope this helps some of you guys and I look forward to seeing you on-line the multi-play version.

I can tell you this; i've been playing it offline and online for the last few days, and being a soldier on the ground absolutely kicks ass.

I'm not much of a commander though (my soldiers seem tom die all the time  :D) and I don't like tanking etc, but the soldier bit is fantastic.

Especially enjoyed ambushing 4 T-72's with mines and LAW's. And then shooting the crew as they ran out.

Or covering my troops with an M60. Ambushed an enemy platoon as they ran to attack my guys. 100 rounds off in no time, six dead enemies.

This game is great, and runs decently at 1024 32 bit on my celeron 566 @ 707, geforce and 128mb ram.
