Incentive for missions
« on: August 04, 2005, 12:49:38 PM »
Just thinking about something here for HTC, why not provide an incentive for people to create and/or join missions?

The benifets would be that more people plan them and of course more flew in them. The result of lots of people flying in missions (with an incentive) would be that a lot of the land grabbers wouldn't interfear with the furballers and hopefully make everyone a little happier.
Then we have a place for the bomber/land grabbers guys to be, they will have their escorts and support jabos/goons. Also the furballers could have a place to be too, they could create a CAP/furball mission to a certain base or a fighter sweep that would accomplish the same thing.
The possibilites are endless here. You have got the HQ raiders, Base taker missions, Furball missions, Amphibious assault missions and GV missions...Once you get people that are like minded together their gameplay experience is enhanced as well opening up communication between the players.

Now how do we reward people for creating and or flying in a mission? We could offer perk points for the creater/flyer or perhaps some type of bonus for a players score for those that like to persue scores. I really haven't thought of anything ground breaking in terms of an incentive yet, any ideas are welcome. I would like to make it clear that I am NOT suggesting any type of system message as a reward. That topic is throughly covered. So what do think guys? Any ideas?

Thought of this a long time back. I do not believe it would promote missions. But wrather people would just create false long missions to get the reward, and then play as normal with out realy doing the mission. Hence the effect would actualy be to undermine missions by cluttering up the mission display.

That is true I suppose, people would just join but not help... is there a way we could specify the target and type of mission, that the player must attack in oder to get there reward?

Also I have heard a little about TOD, is there anywhere I could find out more info on it? I really don't have any idea what it is, but maybe that is the game I am looking for?

I like the idea of promoting missions.

Simply double the perk points for anyone who completes a mission.

If they didn't do anything, no points.  If a base were captured or a sweep was successful mucho points.

While we're at it triple the perks for a one country mission.  ALL LW or all English.

Wow  Think of 30 Spit 1's decending on a base.  It would be like being nibbled to death by ducks.
