Auger Kings feeling left out.
« on: August 04, 2005, 04:47:21 PM »
I've been augering for years now, and with style!  Yet there is no recognition for the auger done well.

Couldn't we get style points on augering?

System message: CorkyJr augered for the 5th time tonight.  Style points=8 out of 10

Seems like a reasonable request to me

okay lmao these posts are getting ANNOYING!

One thing, all jokes aside, the original AH had a kill message for every kill, not just on landing. This was clogging up the 'net traffic and adding lag. So by cutting down on hundreds of hundreds of kill notices HTC effectively reduced lag across the board (less info to send!).

Imagine if it told you when every newbie augered?? OMG I'd be lagging so bad!!! lol!

I was flying sortie last night and out of 5 kills 2 were augers lol!

1-5 augering due to speed

5-10 augering while trying to vulch

10+  flown into ground by the enemy ACM

Close, only I'd put 10+ as a category for "Trying to vulch, augering, and not  hitting a damn thing in the process"

lmao

I think the art of augering has been gyped with the new bail out animation where the plane spins automaticaly in a stylish way. This makes it much harder to truely judge a good auger unless your the type that likes to ride it into terafirma with de plane.

a good way to grade augers would be to take a screenshot of augers in film with the wire frame path to truely show finese'.

:D

But Eilif... It's not an auger if you bail. That doesn't count :)

No, that's a death.. augering is while you're still INSIDE the plane... usually trying in vain to control it/pull out of the dive :D

Augering to me is hitting ground/tree/building/anything-else-that-has-seen-me-coming-and-didnt-step-aside-in-time while still piloting a fully functional plane.
