Shuttle to land at Edwards
« Reply #15 on: August 09, 2005, 02:09:50 PM »
I heard on the radio that it landed at Edwards. First thing that popped into my mind was Guns sitting in a lawn chair, camera in hand.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
Stay thirsty my friends.

I might have a chance to see Discovery. When they land at Edwards they normally stop the piggybacked 747 at Carswell for refueling.

I watched it land there once several years ago from the Lake Worth Bridge on 820. There is also an excellent vantage point at a little park on Robert's Cut-Off that overlooks the base.

yup even if it was just being towed it was sureal seeing it in person.  The thing really gets dirty on re-entry.  I can't wait to see it loaded up onto it's 747 for the trip home to Canaveral.

I'd have to see what his opinion is and back it. Personally, I think the shuttles are still as safe as they were 10 years ago. They just have to do a bit more maintenence and take a few more precautions.
