Dot-dar Too Small
« on: August 08, 2005, 06:55:03 AM »
Can anyone help me with the Dat-Dar Radar. The Friendy and enemy indicators are so tiny I have to strain to see them. I have re-adjusted about every video setting including start up resolution and size. Default @ 256 changed to 512 did not help.
Changed overall resolution etc. etc. Still tiny.

Running a Rage Pro Video card.  :(

The Icons as I fly are fine, it is the radar blips (Dot-Dar) on the clipboard that is too tiny to see any anemy/friendies uping from bases.

PS: Sorry for the terrorist thread skuzzy, Just angry.

Hit the Insert key to zoom the map in until you are comfortable seeing it.  I zoom in the map with the Insert key until the bases are clearly defined and I can see the icons for them, then I use the Z key to quick zoom in and out to check on plane icon positions.

The size of the plane icons now obscures the entire town icon on the map, they cant make them too much larger lol.  Otherwise the map would have to take up the entire screen when you pull it up.

Probably.  The Rage Pro is a pretty old setup.  To be honest I'm surprised it works.  You must have one of the old onboard video chipsets?  I dont think I've ever seen a standalone Rage Pro card with enough memory to run Aces High.

Weasel, I'm only about 1.5 hours away, I've got a few older cards. I could run one up to ya? They're older but alot better than that rage pro in terms of AH.

Got it fixed thanks to "Silat"  1.5 hours on phone from oregon. Pretty cool guy & great new friend. Thanks for the offer though.

SILAT = 1       Weasel = -5 for being so stupid that he downloaded a video driver for a card he does not have.

Heh.  I thought about asking that, but you sounded sure about having a Rage Pro.  Guess I learn again not to assume lol.  Glad you got it fixed.  :)
