Take my wife and daughter to a cottege on a lake.  We would have to fly their because my wife has never been on a plane.  Make it first class.  Have a master chef prepare our meals.

During the morning and afternoon, it would be summer and we could go swimming.  Evening and dusk would be fall so we could have a fire and look at the fall colours.  Night would be winter so we could feel snug and secure in our warm beds with the wind howling outside and the snow falling.

I would probably do some fishing, hiking and swimming.  Hell maybe chop some wood for the fire just because I could.

If it was the last thing I got to do in life I would have it recreate my great grandfather and great grandmother who both died when I was 3 and 6. Then I would introduce them to my wife and children. Also I would like to see what it would have been like for my granfather in WW2 landing and fighting on Luzon. Then take a day to experience things I haven't done yet and go out on a high note with just me and the wife sitting on a beach in Thailand.

The holodeck could not recreate a persons personality and spirit so why not just look at a pic?

Wouldnt it be kinda strange to interact with a hologram as if it was a real person.... not that debating holodecks in itself is sane :D

Sex?  Travel?  Food?

I can do all that in reality, at the same time. :p

I want to fly some of these monsters.  I would want to play with these old, overengined warbirds and see what they were really like.  Have some dogfights and see how they felt.

Then I'd get as many photos and as much flight data as I could on as many of them as I could.  Interior, exterior shots.  As many flight parameters on as many as I could get done (using AI test pilots to get more done) and all recorded on media that I brought in with me so that it would not vanish.

If i had time left I would recreat some of the ancient world to see what it was like.  I am assuming that the computer has data that we lack and can produces things we do not know about.

Call me aircraft and history obsessed, but that is what I would do with it.

EDIT:

Oooh!  Post #7000!  Nice, round numbers, mmmmm....

(What is it about round numbers?  I understand othe r cultures fixate on different numbers.)

It’s where dorks, dorkier then WW2 flight sim dorks (yes some are both but you can pick the dual dorks out by the pocket protectors, BO, Linux stickers and lack of hair on the head but tons of it everywhere else, and possible plastic pointy ears) may be able to have sex.  It’s a maybe, because even holo chicks may find them repulsive.

OK, so everything made in a holodeck ..can't leave the holodeck?

So, if you had a steak dinner in the holodeck, would you be hungry the second you left?

Would the pearl necklace you just gave to your favorite holo-girl fall to the ground and scatter when you stopped the program?

It's suggested that some things are replicated.  For instance, food and drink in the holodeck is real.  Voyager had people eating/drinking in the Holodeck all the time, and they didn't die in painful implosions the moment they left.

I read somewhere that the whole holodeck is 3d holographs and force fields.  Physical stuff is simulated with applied force, and occasionally replicated as needed.
