The sudden spawing trees need to cease
« on: August 12, 2005, 12:20:42 AM »
Well I just had a Me-262 go bye bye thanks to the incredibly suddenly spawing trees.  I was making a picture perfect approach, not more than 200 yards from the end of the runway..blammo, sudden tree.  Roll full power in an attempt to circumvent it, too late.

Please.  If you cant make the trees work correctly, let's remove em.  I can get over the 262 loss.  But this has happened oodles of times when bring in bombers and other craft.  Its just plain silly.

Pretty please, yard the runway-lingering ones!

I had the same thing happen to me last night in the MA with a P38L.  The land appeared to be clear except for a few tree.  Some would appear in the distance, some would appear suddenly right in front of me.  I was lucky enough to miss it.

How about giving me the field location, runway, and terrain name where there are trees at the end of the runways?

I have already gone through a very lengthy deforestation of all the fields on all the terrains for the MA.  It is possible I missed something.

Sorry for a second thread, didn't see this one.

Skuzzy, I've encountered it on a few maps, it's especially bad on this Fester map. Sorry, didn't think get field numbers, I'll dedicate some time to checking the approaches tomorrow.

I mean, wouldn't a WWII base commander deforested for say 2-300 yards around his base anyway? Just to ensure approaches and fields of fire?

Skuzzy make the trees destroyable

We can then goround deforesting the fields.

Person with the most ENT kills gets a perk bounus :p

at the end of the runway and near the end of the runway are 2 different things. Most runways now have a tree or two 200or 300 yards from the end of runway on approach. Stops people from landing half a mile away and rolling onto the runway for points.
This is a good thing as it makes landing kills harder. Imagine, if you will, some of the obstacles that pilots had to avoid both then and now.
Kinda makes you appreciate the skill of Real Life pilots.
I have gotten used to the higher approach angle for landing to the point that is is onlt a minor concern. Just look before you land.
;)

Seeing the trees?    YOU ARE TOOO LOW!  Get some Altitude, DUDE!
I thought I was important until I got Cancer and had to go to a cancer clinic.
