Will 109K get 'Flettners' on next update? It would be nice to have that for a perk plane.

I suggest you read this thread, http://www.allaboutwarfare.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=912.

Flettners were few and far between. In fact, it seems they were locked.

I think the K-4 (which everyone seems to agree we'll get) would probably feel exactly the same as our ol' souped-up pseudo G-10.

We've HAD the K-4 since AH started, lol. It's not going to be any different than the G10 (except I bet we won't get a 20mm hub cannon option)

hmmmm

But Flettners should make the new K-4 an improvement over the G series in rollrate so HTC can perk it :)

If they bother to go to the trouble to remove the G-10 label and rename it the K-4, and remove the 20mm option, might as well add the flettners and make it a light perk plane.  At least it would have something to really set it apart from the rest then.

Also thread on the boards here

http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=156333&highlight=flettners

Yes they were fitted, but locked closed according to manual (post in thread).
Pointless modelling them if you can't use them I would guess.

Update -
I checked the thread that was suggested by MiloMorai -

There is a theory that could have been unlocked at unit level for more experienced pilots, but, butch2k has specifically commented that he has yet to a see a single photogtaph where the actuating arm for the Flettner is present.

So looks like yes fitted (suggested 200 or so aircraft), but locked down, no actuating arm fitted. Perhaps it was going to be utilsed at a later date, but the war ended.
Whatever reason thread is a good read.

Unless....someone has any pics

Is Kurfurst (not the plane, the BBS user) pics allowed? I know he posted ~6 pics that shows 109Ks and even some 109Gs had flettners.

No question they had them -

They were locked down on the K4, couldn't be used.

No pictures have been found of K4s that shows the Flettners even with the actuating arm required to use them. Thats from butch2k the guy who runs the other site and is a 109 expert.
But if you think you have found some it would be worth giving butch2k a heads up on his site, I believe you'll find though that he has most likely already seen them. (Kurfurst posts there also)

But see no reason why you can't post, you might want to check with Kurfurst 1st though.

Heh, did you read the article in this thread?

http://www.hitechcreations.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=157337

Read what it says about the K-4 high speed handling.  Heck, just read what it has to say about the K-4 in general.  Bah.

IMHO adding geared tabs to the G-6 is better founded than introducing the K-4 with tabs; there is plenty of pictures of operational G-6s with tabs but I can't recall any showing tabs in operational K-4s.
