New Player Needs Some Help
« on: August 17, 2005, 11:49:41 AM »
Hi All,
I've just begun my two week trial and need some help getting started in Aces High. I have some flight sim background and a basic understanding of ACM. I'm trying to learn how to navigate the menus and configure flight, stick and key mappings. Also looking for a group that would be willing to take a new guy under their wing for a while.

Thanks and

the training arena is best for new players. in the TA there are "trainers" who are willing to help alot.

id highly suggest taking a night and reading the help files. there is a plethora of information explaining everything in AH.

on the main page under "support" click on help.

IIRC you can also download the help files

lastly, there is a radio channel in the main arena (MA) called "help" in the radio drop down list. you can ask quick questions on that channel.

learning all the navigation, nuances, and termonoligy of the game will take time though... i'd say a good solid month of playing before you get a real feel for what is going on all over.

Sir, go to http://www.thegreenmountainboys.com and sign up.  We will be glad to help you get going with some one on one training.  Our squad is 8+ years old and has some of the best sticks in the sim.  But mainly there a bunch of laid back good "old" boys. Most of us are over 40 with military experiance, even some navy top gun pilots.

If you want a long term home with some good buds come on over, we love taking on new guys and teaching them as they all ways stick around.
