Nice report, skuzzy. Took me back to my glory days, even though that was back in WB. I was a Colonel in that! (Never figured out why - put it down to having held the #1 buff slot for a few days one tour)
Good to see this and other AAR's popping up now. I had despaired that flying a mission with a purpose had evaporated from this game having given way to the "Chess without Kings" style of gameplay.
Much more interesting than an AAR which would read like this: "Upped a Spit V, climbed to 2K and flew the 45 secs to the next base - twisted my stick against an F6F, boom! Got another two toolshed killers, ran out of ammo so bailed to save time... reupped - flew the 45 secs back to the action, saw some buffs overhead - alt monkeys all of them at 9K, closed in on a 109 with my 6 wingmen, doh! - killshooter death. Reupped my SpitV, flew the 45 secs back to the action (we really need the bases to be closer together - these 45 sec flights are tedious) - went to kill an enemy LA7 when some limey dork in a F4U jumped me - I never saw him so he MUST have been at 20K. As I floated down in the silk, reminded him on Ch200 that if it had been a 1-v-1 in the DA, I'd have kicked his limey arse waah waah waah... How dare he engage me without making an appointment, but doh!!! - remembered that this guy doesn't tune Ch200... Went to re-up my SpitV and... waaaaaahhhh! The FHs have all been levelled. Those buffs killed my fun. Could have defended maybe, but that's 'not fun'. Waaah, logged off. Went to the BBS with a box of kleenex.
