Some where in the game is there a discription of the planes you selcet.... EX the year it came out top speeds, gun types etc.etc.etc. bomb loads?

In the hangar, right click on clipboard, select "WEB Charts", or from your browser, select "Game Info" in our main menu, then Planes, Vehicles, and Boats.
