Ummm, Lew,

Ok, lets assume for the sake of argument that this isn't what it is, another tiny little here today gone tomorrow movement (I'd never even heard of them, and I try to keep tabs on what is going on in Evangelical circles), lets assume they actually succeed in their agenda. What are they trying to do? Essentially run away and re-establish South Carolina as a state with limited government. For instance, their position statement had the following information:

"Intentions for government:

ChristianExodus.org seeks a decentralized, confederated government where the majority of power rests with local municipalities. Decentralized, local power enables the electorate to correct abuses quickly and inexpensively. It offers access to justice for even the least privileged in society. It secures the rights of the minority and the majority alike. Local government offers people choices and variety by way of easy relocation to a nearby community more in tune with their beliefs. Decentralized power promotes competition between communities that desire to attract new residents. That government is best which governs least and resides closest to the people.

Religious freedom:

At no time in American jurisprudence has religious persecution been acceptable. Nor does ChristianExodus.org believe any tenets of the Christian faith promote persecution of other faiths. Our organization stands decidedly in favor of religious freedom and liberty for all human beings so long as their religious behaviors do not violate the God-given rights of others. Again, ChristianExodus.org will not support any efforts on the part of government to violate the unalienable right to freedom of religious belief. People of all faiths must have the same rights and freedoms guaranteed to them under law.

Religious tests for citizenship:

ChristianExodus.org does not desire the establishment of a theocracy where religious tests are required for citizenship. Also see our position on religious freedom above.

Racial and nationality discrimination:

ChristianExodus.org demands that all races be treated equally as children of God. All people originate from the same Creator and are therefore equal in His sight, and must be treated equally before the law. ChristianExodus.org will not tolerate any racial hatred or discrimination by its members. Additionally, once in South Carolina, ChristianExodus.org members will work to ensure equal access to and treatment before the law for all God's people irrespective of color or national origin."

Source: Position Statements

Aside from the fact that they believe that states have the right to outlaw abortion and homosexual behavior why are they of great concern to you? As far as I know, you live nowhere near South Carolina. Also, what is it in their agenda (which they are quite frank about) that you find most horrifying? The repeal of income tax perhaps? Come on Lew, pu this in context, if they got everything they wanted, their new state would still be less conservative than the actual state of South Carolina was in 1880.

Big threat indeed.

Its just another evangelical group SEA. Take it however you want.
But they arent the only group of Evangelicals that want to bring Fundamental Christianity to us all.
Maybe they are small. Maybe they arent. I consider fanatics of all kinds to be dangerous.
Pretending like they dont exist isnt the answer.

Based on some of the anti-intelligent design post, I would have thought your ancestors swung from trees :D
