Resupply idea
« on: August 30, 2005, 08:45:46 AM »
more of an idea or suggestion then a request or wish.
Currently  if a string of bases is out of supply.  such as the following

A20----A22-------A34------V29

Lets say A20 is a front line base directly involved in the fighting ,A22,and A34 are all damaged for whatever reason.
But supplies are up at V29.
Currently if resupplying by GV You would have to resupply A34 to the point troops are up before you could resupply A22 where you would have to get that up tot he point troops were enabled befpore you could  resupply A20.

How about all you have to do is spawn to and drive to the base then spawn to and drive to the next base and so on and so forth to resupply the base you want to

Meaning You spawn from V29 to A34. Drive from the spawn point to A34 and end mission without dumping your supplies on the feild. providing the VH is up you then could spawn from A34 to A22. Make that drive from spawn point to base and do the same thing to A20 with the same load of supplies then when you get to A20 you dump the supplies onthe feild to resupply that feild.

Neither A34 nor A22 would be receive any of this supply as you didnt dump the supplies on the feild.

this would help in getting supplies to the areas where they are most needed and anyone willing to do all that driving deserves to get their supplies to where they want them to go.

To prevent the hordes from spawning in troops from 3 bases back you should make it apply to base supplies and GV supplies only and not troops.

By the same token. Hot padding goons with troops on bases where troops are normally unavailable due ot the barracks being destroyed should be done away with as the troops that would be used to take a feild would also be needed in operating it untill other troops arrived to take over and the barracks were back up.
But. the troops used to take the feild should cause the barracks to come back up in half the remaining time they have left before they would normally come up.
In essense. dropping troops should help to resupply and rebuild barracks and other facilities
