I think we have grown to accept computers as our main form of entertainment now in our household.  The TV is still there but I rarely sit down and watch it - most of the time it is just on in the background, with me turning to look if I hear anything special mentioned or something exciting is happening in one of my 'soaps'!  :)

Otherwise, we spend a lot of time playing Second Life or, in my case at least, Aces High.  Him upstairs on his computer, me downstairs on mine - and sometimes our son (Cloudy) as well.  Problem is I don't spend enough time on the housework.....  :o  (Thank goodness Zeb likes cooking though!  :D )

My wifey was a long time AW Widow.... After losing her wife~ack ablilities, I had no problems during the AW to AH transitions.

However during the "DARK" days when I couldn't fly, BECAUSE MY PUTER NEEDED AN UPGRADE!!!!, she seen me going thru some serious withdraws...

Now when I come home from work, she pours me a glass of wine, a kiss and tells me to go fly and unwind.  Sometimes she'll even bring my Dinner upstairs so I can eat between missions.

:aok

My wife adjusted in different ways. Having a stressful job during my entire time of playing AW (and now AH), she knew if I came ome and sat right down at the puter, that it was not safe to talk to me.

It was only after I'd killed a number of Az and Cz that I could hold a rational, fair discussion with her :)

Also, taking her to a few AW conventions helped...she actuall had a good time!
Political correctness is a doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical, liberal minority and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous mainstream media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end.

My wife thinks I'm a nerd
Apparently, one in five people in the world are Chinese. And there are five people in my family, so it must be one of them. It's either my mum or my dad. Or my older brother, Colin. Or my younger brother, Ho-Chan-Chu. But I think it's Colin. - Tim Vine.

Are you trying to say you arent?  :)

I got lucky with the current one, she doesnt give a rat's arse about AH or any other flight sim, but she does play several other games online and doesnt mind my time spent here at all.  When she wants to watch TV, she's happy I'm on the computer, because we arent competing for TV time.

my wife also thinks I've turned nerd.  I don't have a wife ack problem because of all the passions I've involved myself in during our life together this is the only one where she can readily keep tabs on me and I don't come home injured.  it seems some of you gentlemen did not attend wife acclimatization 101 prior to taking your vows.  that explains why so many of you fly in hordes.

Hence now I am single (YAY!)

That's the nail on the head alright. You're right Ohio - it's a "time together" issue, despite any attempt at conversation during "time together" being met with icy glare or "quiet, I'm trying to watch TV" !!!

I miss the good days of old simple, “Wife-ack”, where rounds would be lobbed at me from her fixed gun position on the sofa….

She has now discovered the more lethal tactic of, “Wife-Spawn-Camping” Where places her self right in front of the keyboard.
My password at work had to contain exactly 8 characters… I chose Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

btw - Magic Roundabout aaaah, sweet memories. Time for bed:)

I think we're married to the same person, is your wife named Jessica too?!?!? lol
