OS adavantages

I normally poo poo this sort of question yet here I am wondering.

My previous OS was win98se with AH set with lots  of preloaded memory to handle. (Skuzzy even wondered if Win 98 would be stable handling it)

I have upgraded  since to WinXP SP2.

Its easy to fool yourself into thinking that this is giving you an edge in game play.........(this is what I poo poo normally)

I have never been a good shot but I thought my gunnery (accuracy or hit %) had improved............then poo poo'd this as nonsense.

But one unmistakable pattern that is emerging is the fact that my tank gunnery has now improved exponentially.

Prior OS change my panzer work was very poor I would point shoot, point shoot and die to my enemies shells...............now he dies quite often after one hit to his turret............

Could it be that I did indeed have problems of stability with Win98 and stuff preloaded to sys memory. That whilst this showed in poor FR it also affected other stuff less easily measured?

If anything the change might be improvements in the networking. Or then you used to play with vsync off and now it's on.
