Gunners piloting drones?
« on: September 03, 2005, 06:06:16 PM »
As it stands now you can have one gunner join you, and he can jump to various positions.

What would you think about allowing this gunner to jump into the pilots’ position of one of the drones, and assuming control of it? This would leave you with your main plane and one drone…. Perhaps then another player could join as a gunner and assume control of the other drone.

This would allow one player “ferry” three planes for part of the mission and allow others to join the mission in progress. Three players could then aim for three separate targets… each using one third of the bombs a single player would normally have available if the entire mission was flown as a formation.

here's a novel idea man. 3 people uncheck the formation box in the hanger, all 3 take up the same plane at the same time, and all 3 fly in V formation! then you've got your main plane, and your 2 buddies are your "drones". they can all jump to thier gun positions as you can yours!

OMFG BBQ!

You don’t have to allow newbies to join as it is now, and perhaps a special command could be added to allow them to jump to controlling a drone from the gunners possition. I just thought it would be nice to allow squad members to join into a mission that may have taken off before the logged on. Or maybe they were just unable to finish their previous flight before the mission started.

I believe anything to get more people involved in missions is a good idea.
