Evening, err, morning all :)

Been working on a 51 racer to give to Strykker for his racing map.  Was great practice for everything but weathering.  I kept her colors basically unweathered as she would have been waxed for the race, ect.  She is the VAL-HALLA, last raced in '99.  Actual pic of her in the background.  Upper right pic is in skin viewer and bottom is in-game.



Anyway, being that there are several 51D skins that have been submitted (and this one wasn't a warbird) I figure I will work on a B version skin next.  Hehe, something with lots of red

Thnky gents.  

Love the paint scheme on that one Lord Raptor. Anymore racers out there?  Hadnt thought about them before Strykkers post.  

I'm having way too much fun with racing skins being that the HTC submitted historics are pretty much saturated.  Not a moan but can't find anything "outstanding" to compete with those like that RAF by Kev.  Amazing! :aok

It's hard finding P-38s, P47s, spits that had racing schemes because they are not used anymore it seems.

Rgr sir.  Well, was a lot of fun working on this one.  I will keep my eye out for some future ones.  Im working on the 51B now.  Need something with red :D Possibly a historic.  I have been researching a Tuskeegee B version.

May I suggest a 4th FG P-51D, like Red Dog XII.  Lots of red on her.

If you want a historic red P51B/C racer then you'd have to go with Paul Mantz's bird.  He had two C models post war he raced.  One is in the NASM now and the other is a flyer restored in Tuskeegee Airmen colors with Kermit Weeks in Florida.

Mantz's birds are probably the most famous of the razorback racing Mustangs.

I did a profile way back of his bird and Jackie Cochran's green P51B racer.

Fencer, I will work on that 4th FG if nobody has spoken for her.  I think that will be a lot of fun.  I am out of town right now but will start on her this weekend.

Guppy I LOVE IT!  She is mine mine, all mine :aok
I definately want to race that at first opportunity:cool:
