I'm on dial up being that I live in the sticks, so even updates take a while. 65M takes hours, usually ending in a disco somewhere over the half way point.

Do you fellas purposefully not include a update every once in a while so people hafta download the full version? I've noticed this happens at least every 5-6 or 7 releases, breaking my chain.

The patch was 30MB, or so, and it is the only thing downloaded by the in-game auto-updater.

Lizard3,

I'm dial-up too and did not find a link for the update.  Using the auto-updater was the only way to just get the 30MB patch – took 3 hours.  HTC not providing a link to the patches may be their new style.  And I must say the link is/was somewhat redundant to the in-game auto-updater – I think/hope it will start where it left off if you get discoed in the middle of a download.

The in-game auto-updater does give you the option to resume the download if you lose your connection during the download.

I dont know why...but in the past I had a much faster download downloading the Update from the website versus the in-game downloader.

Different hosts?  Or just the magic of internet mojo?

Ummm, yeah... I got it using the auto-updater, but now I don't have the file itself, unless its hidden somewhere. By breaking my chain, I refer to my occasional full download and all the patches after saved in my downloads folder. If I have a problem with either AH or my HD or system, I'll have to download the full version and that could take days if not weeks to get it right. Its happend before. Usually we are offered the option of auto or the download page for the update, but it seems like every once in a while its a auto-update only.

I was wondering if this is on porpoise or an oversite?

I think I read in another post that people would download the wrong patch, install in wrong order, etc, so they took the individual patches off, offering only the current full version to download.

The autoupdater puts the download file in whatever folder your running AH out of.

For me autoupdate also slower than downloads from homepage were.

But i can understand the problem of people installing patches in wrong order (counting really difficult sometimes) and complaining afterwards in tech support.
