More realistic looking bomber formations
« on: September 08, 2005, 11:03:16 AM »
Currently, when cruising straight and level in a bomber, the two drones fly along rock-solid, straight and level beside it. However, if the flight path of each drone could slowly vary 4 or 5 feet above and below that rock-solid straight line of flight, they would appear more realistic.

In regard to TOD, this would make a significant difference as to how large AI formations look as well. When near large cloud formations, as promised in TOD, the flight variations could increase somewhat.

This "Merlins" cgi clip at the link is so convincing - and a major contribution is the fact that the author provides a subtly changing point of view that gives the impression of natural variations in motion.
