Lazs2 - my house is now in order. All I need is power and IU expect that in a day  or two. If fema pays for my $580 generator, Ill be grateful. If not, Ill absorb it. But This New Orleanean is back online. Make no mistake, there are people who are hit very bad. But most people crying are not those people. Most people crying are those who were trying on Nikes in floodwaters. And thats the damn truth.

Excuse my insensitivity, but that is a funny illustration.

Congrats on getting your life back up, I wish you and your family good health and a quick recovery from the tragedy of the hurricane.

btw... I believe you... my experiances have been the same.   If I lived near you but had power I would lend you a generator.   You wouldn't need fema.   I bet you will get more help from ordinary folk than you will from the government.

I do think you are slightly wrong on the poor doing all the work part tho... it has been my experiance that the majority of the poor do no work at all.   You may have been talking about the lower middle class tho or middle class.   Average household incomes in the U.S. run around 44,000   With two people working that is not an unatainable goal by any means.
