would 'owned' be the right word for the subjects of the crown? (not meant as an insult to the subjects.. we're headed into a similar oblivion over here)

I predict Big Business, OPEC and the Governments, winners by a landslide, with shares in Public Transportation stock showing huge gains on the Big Board.

Well, if indeed it is the case that the current high prices are due to a bubble caused by speculation on oil futures, such sorts of blockades could indirectly have an effect on prices. But probly not

dowding... I don't know what you are talking about...  are you agreeing with me that the weak will be hurt by the strong?   I know that I sure as hell wouldn't have been a victim at the superdome... or anyone around me for that matter.... Unless I was somehow dissarmed.

In england... if you don't like being mugged or bullied you can simply run away.  It they let you...
