<--- can't wait to get to work tommorrow to rub it into the Apple techs faces.

Hey skuzzy, question for you, I have a guy visiting our branch from another branch. He has an Apple, OS X, its trying to send smtp commands via port 80 to odd servers around the world, including an ozemail server, a redsherrif server, and a google server, it seems to do it randomly throughout the day. Any ideas? The apple crowd shrugged it off as a "dunno" in their infinite complacency.

Sounds like one of the worm variants that was drifting around on the WEB.  Probably contracted via ActiveX.  I cannot recall the name of it, but it does randomly try to find other computers to infect.  A virus scan should catch it.  A spyware scan would probably identify it.

And Nilsen, dunt make me toss more nautical terms at you!  :D

RTR, the aliens have landed and I have it on good authority they are considering you a good candidate for an anal probe.  Keep the duct tape handy.

Dunt worry Nilsen.  Denial is the first stage in acknowledging you have a problem.  Time will take care of it.  :)

If you are waiting for me to come to my senses, you have a long wait.

As far as the nautical terms, I feel confident you will come to grips with it over time. :D

Thank you Nilsen.  Not often I get a compliment like that.

Oh, you really do not need a manual on how to clean scuppers.  When you see them, you will know right away how to clean them.

You are welcome :)

I leave the "scupper" cleaning for the desperate young lads that has been at sea for too long.

Btw.. why did you stop fishing? Did Lt. Dan fire you from your shrimp boat? ;)

Had to go back to school.  It was just a summer job.  I was either going to work for a farm, or on a boat.  I chose the boat that year.  Hard work, but a ton of fun too.

Lingvo Rus-Eng dictionary: "shpigat" ("шпигат") = scupper. Exactly as you explained it. I simply typed "шпигат" and got "scupper" as the only translation.

Russian naval terms were copied from Dutch language by Peter the Great. I know this term because I probably have read too many books when I was a kid. I never have been into the sea or lake where I couldn't see a shore :(

I can help you with that.

Go to the nearest lake and close your eyes. Thats how it feels to be on the open ocean on a cloudy night in calm weather :D
