One thing I hate about my job....
« on: September 13, 2005, 02:21:38 PM »
(when not working virtual....) Its either so fricking busy that I have no time to even eat lunch(shoulder taps), or its so slow that I have to sit through hours of meetings where it seems progress of said project goes at a snails pace.

There. I feel better now...ready for 3 more hours of meetings.

I took a company sponsored time management class that suggested avoiding con-calls and meetings because they waste time !

sorry to hear that Rip.   I sit here at work surfing thru the various forums I belong to while doing my job.    I get more surfing done here at work than at home.     Then again I have a job where I can do my job and surf.

I know the feeling, I have four big projects running concurrently. The only reason I can post is I am on a con call playing dead, hoping I am not asked my opinion or any questions.

Pffft... if it's not agricultural or construction work, it's hard to consider it real work.

I won't complain.

Back when I started my current job, about 6 years ago the company made every department meet for 2 hours every friday to train, and go over issues.

At the time our department was all dudes. All under 30 other then the boss, and all crude bastages.

The boss would bring in training crap, but the meetings always degenerated into 9 of us making fun of the really lame guy in the department.

Well other then the time they showed a video of me sleeping in my cube (I was on the job two days and had come from a night shift, so getting my sleep patern right was a *****).

They added extra loud snoring effects.  Funny stuff.

We dont have those meetings anymore lol..

Agreed. I've been in construction and manufacturing, then I retired in IT for the company I now work for...:p

VOR,

Great post. I loved that picture!
