Anyone with dog experience?

Okay here's the deal: I've ten puppies, mixed-breed. About three weeks old, eyes open' starting to walk. I built a kennel for them this afternoon and moved them to it. They were for all intents and purposes healthy as horses. After having been out there about six hours I went to move them back inside for the evening due to an approaching storm. I noticed that two out of the ten had a lump on their throats maybe the size of half a ping-pong ball. (Very pronounced on a puppy) All the others seem fine. These two don't appear to be in any distress.

Any idea what this may be? We live in Central Kentucky, no stinging insects. Both bulges are in the same area on both puppies, in the throat area. Allergic reaction perhaps?

Ya gotta take 'em to a vet for shots anyway, have the vet check 'em out

might try suctioning the throat with a tiny eye dropper or something.   ive seen  vets "sling" new borns, holding them on their back in their palms and using gravity...gently ,to help clear the pups of fluid (right at birth)   call a vet, in lots of places they have a 24 hr animal emerg. clinic with a number.   or if your in the country like where i grew up we would call the ag agent.      good luck

Got 4 dogs + puppies at home - never seen any thing like you describe.
I'd just call the vet and ask.
Anyway if you need tips of various items just ask.
BTW what kind of mixed breeds are these? Mixed ones are basically healthier anyway.

Yeah, going to call one this morning. Both "spots" have reduced considerably since last night. The one thing I didn't think of last night was that a deer fly had gotten ahold of them. Especially since it was their first afternoon outside.

Like I said they seem fine, don't seem to notice it at all.

Angus: They're 1/2 German Shepard, 1/2 Golden Labon their mom's side and St. Bernard on the dads.
PS: And yeah, they're healthy, well cared for, rolly-poly puppies.

My first thought would be spider bite or something like that but two dogs with swelling in the same exact area of the neck seems to coincidental.

 A quick google shows this:

Among other things, this can indicate an infection somewhere in the body as well as a condition called juvenile cellulitis which, if left untreated, can eventually cut off the puppy's ability to breath. It can also indicate the presence of a tumor, benign or otherwise. The sooner you can have it determined which of the three( if any) it is , the sooner it can be treated.

If the swelling is going down, I'd be thinking insect bite, especially if the pup is eating normally and playing normally. If the pup goes off his feed or gets lethargic, I'd take it (them) to a vet.

Yeah Toad, I googled and basically go the same results. I'm leaning more towards a bite now as both are actively draining. The throat is the most tender area on a dog, if something is going to be able to sink it's little fangs/stinger in that's the most likely spot. They seem to not even notice it, so I'll just observe them for awhile.

Saw a 1/2 lab, 1/2 St. Bernard the other day. Very cool looking dog. Kinda reminded me of a Swiss Mountain dog, only bigger and browner.

And yeah, Larokkit. There are more 24hour vets in Lexington than normal doctors I think what with all the horse flesh about.
