For those lving in Texas in the Houston area, check and see if you are one of those who need to be mandatoroly evacuated and IF this comes then check and see what time ur town/city needs to be evacuated.

On September 21 if you live in the following areas then the mandatory evacuations will begin at 6:00pm: Areas: Galveston, Tiki Island, Bayou Vista, Kemah, Boliver, Bayview, and Clear Lake Shores.

On september 22 if you live in Texas City, LaMarque, Dickinson, Hitchcock you will be asked to evacuate at 2:00AM

On September 23 if you live in the following areas League City, Friendswood. Will be asked to evacuate at noon.

These are all central times.

For more info go to this websiteRita Evac Info

This is also where i got the info that you see above. TY

Could be wrong about this, but don't think there is such a thing as "mandatory" evacuation in Texas.

Yeah, leave now, or risk being called an opportinist looter in wait. Or a dumbarse.

In Key West, where manditory evacuations were called, only half the people actually evacuated.

In Houston? What will the percentage be?

Then throw the whole thing into a blender and tell us how New Orleans was the result of ignorance or criminal intent.

Latest i've heard is after landfall, it will move up the brazos river right into waco :( I've heard anything up to 90mph winds as far inland as waco. that means evac in houston would have to go as far as dallas.

The biggest difference in Houston and New Orleans, Texas is above sea level.

Texas City Dike actually. It's made of dirt... but the storm surge is gonna be taller than the dikes... On top of that, a good portion of West Houston is inside the reservoir. Katy area (which appearently alot more AH players than I knew about live in), etc. It can and will flood like hell here, and that's just during a heavy rain. It's a surreal moment when you're driving down a road with water almost up to your hood... and the get passed by jetskis and shallow draft boats.

Houston flood area evacs are scheduled to start at noon tommorrow. I'll be long gone by then thankfully. I just filled out my short-notice vacation form. Departure tommorrow, return to work I listed as "pending end of anarchy".

With the exception of being next to Mexico, Texas sucks geographically. I moved down here from the pacific NW where it rains all the time, yet I never remember a flood. It rains good here for 120 minutes and half of the streets turn in to whitewater rapids. Too flat I guess, the water has no place to go.

Shoot I gotta spend a $100 on gas just to get to some hills worth climbing.
