Gun Show Wish List

Yup.. got a pile of funky SKS scope mounts laying in the scrap box.. a Leapers w/receiver cover, a millet scout mount, a B-Square scout mount, an S&K, a gas tube mount..

arrgh. Crap.

I have a Williams firesight set.. shoots as good as any scout scope setup at 100 yards but it zeroed a lil high at it's lowest setting on my chinaman SKS. Then I got a Tech 200 rear aperature... lordy, what a sweet setup. Big improvement in accuracy. I'm getting used to the takedown hurdle.. one screw removal of the receiver cover slows me up about a minute on the teardown and the sight holds it's zero perfectly after over 20 takedowns now. A bit pricey but it's without doubt the finest aperature sight system for an SKS you can buy. Worth it.. wish I'd bought one first. With the Firesight front post it's about perfect. I'm outshooting a buddy with an AR-15 and it's annoying the hell outta him. :)

I'm looking forward to the Choate Stock and Scope mount.. ordered it this morning. The new Yugo's a good shooter but the goofy night sights kinda make precison daylight shooting with an SKS a mite problematic.. and it'll lose a few pounds when I carve all that crap off the fore-end.

Did I just say precison shooting and SKS in the same sentance?

LOL!

Anyway, the scope should be fun, and I'm looking forward to playing with an SKS in a qualitystock designed for somebody a lil taller than a dwarf.

I'll revisit the 'precision' comment afterwards. ;)
